Frequently asked Questions
What is the NDIS and how does it work?
The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is a government-funded program in Australia that provides support to people with permanent and significant disabilities. It gives eligible participants funding to access supports and services tailored to their goals, needs, and independence.
Am I eligible for NDIS services?
To be eligible for the NDIS, you must:
Be under 65 years old
Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a – Protected Special Category Visa
Have a permanent or significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities
If you meet these criteria, you can apply through the NDIA.
Can I change providers if I am not satisfied?
Yes, you can change service providers under the NDIS-you have choice and control over your supports.
If it feels difficult to talk to your current provider, a trusted person can help. Just check your Service Agreement for any notice or cancellation requirements.
How do I apply for the NDIS?
You can apply by submitting an Access Request Form to the NDIA, either online, over the phone, or in person. You’ll need medical evidence and supporting documents that show how your disability impacts your daily life.
It's your life.
